Where to Float

Buffalo River This is our favorite float in the Island Park Area. The Buffalo river is a slow and shallow family friendly float. Perfect for a quick trip, this float only take about 30-45 minutes. Add additional time to play in the river along the way.

Macks Inn  is the most popular area to float in Island Park. This section of the Henrys Fork is a lot like a lazy river and is only about 3-4 feet deep.  Floating from Big Springs Boat Launch to Mack’s Inn bridge is about a 3 hour float.

Island Park Reservoir has a couple different option of places to float and is a great choice for renting for the day. Buttermilk, Island Park, and McCrea Bridge Campgrounds are all have water access. The best of these is probably McCrea Bridge as no motorized boats are allow up stream of the bridge.

Box Canyon do to the ever changing conditions on this section of river we do not rent out kayaks or paddle boards to people who intend to float this section.
